This year’s Back To School Blessing Program (for at risk and homeless families with dependent children) was a major success in many ways.
On Thursday, July 31, 2014, we were able to deliver school supplies to each motel site and serve thirteen families and thirty four children ranging in ages from 5 (kindergarten to high school) to seventeen years from three Gwinnett County extended stay motels. With backpacks, pencils, pens, notebook paper, erasers, assorted folders with pockets, writing tablets, pencil sharpeners, tissue, hand sanitizer and more. All mothers receive a personal special gift.
With permission families were prayed for with a special back to school blessing for the children. One mother gave her life to Christ during our visit.
Office Depot on Duluth Hwy in Lawrenceville donated a twenty dollar gift card for school supplies, Sam’s on Steve Reynolds gave a twenty five dollar gift card and Norcross Target on Holcomb Bridge Road gave a fifty dollar donation toward school supplies and God blessed everything.
The smiles on the faces of the children and parents spoke volumes and all I can say is “To God be the Glory”!
